How
The Little Red works
When you take your skates to be ground by a professional
with conventional grinding wheels, they are usually ground with
the wheel dressed anywhere from a 1/2" radius to a 3/4"
radius. Average skate blades are 1/8" thick. The problem
with hand held skate sharpeners that attempt to true the concave
surface of the skate blade, is that all these dimensions vary
from grinder to grinder and from skate blade to skate blade. It
is virtually impossible to accurately sharpen this concave surface
with any hand held tool.
Skate blades become dull when the sharp edge develops
a "burr" which is a rough edge or area on the skate's
edges.
The
simplicity of The Little Red
system is that is will sharpen any skate, extending the
life of each professional grind considerably. It simply,
and in just a few strokes, removes the "burr"
on both the outside edges, restoring a sharp, keen surface.

How
to Use The Little
Red
Diamonds
love water and The Little Red
cuts fast and true when used with it. So first wet both
your skate blades and The Little Red
Diamond surfaces with tap water, from a bench side water
bottle or with a handful of snow.
The
Little Reds specially
moulded grip fits your hand naturally - whether you shoot
right or left. Place The Little Red
over the blade and squeeze it gently to close in
on the blade.
You'll
notice that the lower edge of The
Little Red will ride on the bottom edges of the skate
blade holder. This ensures proper alignment of The
Little Red and guides its movement.
Stroke
The Little Red back and forth
a few times. Use easy, steady strokes - excessive pressure
is not required. Let the diamonds do the work! Only a few
strokes are needed and you've regained your competitive
edge on the ice!
The

triple hinge fits all blade thicknesses, including goalie
